A Fine Line - Between Chaos and Creation

Everybody seems to think I'm lazy; I don't mind, I think they're crazy...

Almost forgot to post today! And this year was going really well, too. D:

So as I'm kinda pressed for time, and I haven't got too many ideas sitting in my 'bag of posting ideas' that can be expounded upon in the time I have given... you get just a short random thought about something I've had for a few weeks now.

-----

Everyone knows those wonderful debit/credit chip and pin machines they have everywhere, right? They're in just about every store; every restaurant - you can't really miss them.

Anyway, right after you put your card in, the first thing it does is confirm your total, and ask you if it's okay.

Well, my thought is: what if you could tell it, "No, that's NOT okay! You're charging me way too much!" (Of course, there is no button like that on the machine, so you'd just press No.)

Still with me? Good. Then, once you've told it that you're not okay with said total, you could... I dunno. Haggle with it or something. It'd play out something along the lines of this, I imagine:

Machine: Your total - $20.76. Is this okay?

Me (all this would be pressing buttons, fyi. Not actually speaking.): No.

Machine: Please enter acceptable total.

Me: $5.

Machine: Entry not accepted. Total is $17.76. Please enter new total or press Okay now.

Me: $7.56.

Machine: Entry not accepted. Total is $15. Please enter new total or press Okay now.

Me: $10.

Machine: Entry not accepted. Total is $12.76 and no less. Please enter new total or press Okay now.

Me: Okay.

Etc, etc; you get your stuff for a lot less. You're that much happier. Of course, I can't imagine the store owners being too happy, but then, who cares? You saved $8, and it was completely legal!

I swear, that'd be so awesome if that ever actually came into existence. :D
