NaBloPoMo 2010 - Day Two
So cool it hurts
Enter Day Two of NaBloPoMo. Some of you may remember reading this post last year (http://alec-towser.livejournal.com/27961.html), where I made up a satirical rant-ish spotter's guide to people who avoided buying poppies for Remembrance Day. I'd thought about doing another one this year, adding on new species and varieties.

However, the silly people foiled my plans. They actually BOUGHT poppies. And were fairly generous about it, too. (Not that that's a bad thing; they just deprived me of a post rant. *sigh* Oh well.) I had so many people give me $5s for one poppy (each; not the same poppy for everyone. :P). One guy actually gave me $20 for two. :O

Wow. Talk about supporting the veterans. I like that.

There's just something about seeing all these people (both who bought my poppies and those who had gotten them elsewhere) wearing the poppies. It's a sign of respect, to all those who fought in the past to help keep this country free and safe, both living and dead. The sacrifices that those brave men and women have made for us today should never be forgotten.

So I encourage all of you: wear a poppy and remember.
