I Am Clever

A Fine Line - Between Chaos and Creation

Everybody seems to think I'm lazy; I don't mind, I think they're crazy...

NaBloPoMo - Day Thirty
So cool it hurts
AKA 'The End; Plus a Small Survey'.

Today is Day Thirty. The last day of NaBloPoMo. One entire month of posting once a day every day. I can't believe a) that it's over, and b) that I actually managed to pull it off.

With that said, let us continue upward, and inward!

Today, I give you poetry - two pieces I wrote. They're both based off of the same framework, but completely different subject matter.

The Musician and the Wanderer

I am the musician and the wanderer
I wonder how many towns I will have to visit
I hear the soft strains of silence from the town
I see the instruments laid out in front of me
I want to be accepted, yet I know I will not
I am the musician and the wanderer

I pretend I am playing an endless concert
I feel like I will never be able to play well enough
I touch the guitar strings with nervous anticipation
I worry because nobody ever seems to listen
I cry for what used to be, and what might someday be
I am the musician and the wanderer

I understand that there are creative differences
I say I can't stay very long
I dream of writing the perfect song
I try to express my emotions though my music, but somehow fail
I hope the next town will be more inviting
I am the musician and the wanderer

The Night and the Black Cat

I am the night and the black cat
I wonder how many tails I will have to itch
I hear the first scratches of dawn at my door
I see the sun dancing in delight
I want the dark to last a little longer
I am the night and the black cat

I pretend not to notice the moon hiding in my cellar
I feel the dew that tingles my fur
I touch the sky which starts to laugh
I worry the stars may see the light
I cry the yowling tears on my window
I am the night and the black cat

I understand the sky is hissing
I say it's only an imaginary fear
I dream the day will never come
I try to stop the flowering sun from singing
I hope my identity will never fade and die
I am the night and the black cat

Both poems composed by Josee Smith. Copyright 2005; 2008-09

Today was Stay At Home Because You Are Well Day, as well as Computer Security Day! :D

PS: Facebook readers, who actually took the time to read my NaBlo stuff? Should I try to continue posting semi-regularly (not as often as once a day, but more often than once or twice a month)? Should I not? Was my stuff interesting to read? Why or why not? Is there anything you think I ought to write about in future (rant-wise or whatnot)?

(That was the survey I was talking about.) Please let me know. Your input helps.

And with this post, I can say with a certainty that I HAVE SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED NATIONAL BLOG POSTING MONTH 2009!!! Woo hoo!!! See ya on the flip side! ;)
