A Fine Line - Between Chaos and Creation

Everybody seems to think I'm lazy; I don't mind, I think they're crazy...

NaBloPoMo - Day Twenty-Nine
Wow... this is the second to last post. I can't believe it's almost over.

I totally had a way different idea in mind to post about for today, but circumstances have made me rethink me decision (for now). I had originally planned to do a Twilight rant, but I'll save that for another day. ;) This is something I felt led to post.

So without further ado, I present - a SR (situation report) and two book recommendations!

Item the First: Situation Report

Those of you who read this journal/blog and/or know me fairly well will know that I've made a commitment.

Those of you who know me well know that I don't make commitments lightly.

However, about two months ago (give or take a bit), I had a bit of a monkey wrench thrown into the mix.

Since then, the situation has somewhat changed. (Certain people will know what I mean.) However, I'm still not too sure where to go from here.

I've had some not-so-great experiences when it comes to guys...nothing ever happened (thankfully) with anybody, but still I definitely started the wrong way with most of them.

I want to do this the right way this time.

I've definitely been doing a lot of praying about this, and I'm still not too sure on how to proceed with this. Mostly because... heaven help me, I want something to happen. But is it what God wants for me?

So yeah, I'm still kind of confused on this subject. :S

Item the Second: Book Recommendation (x2)

I've been reading two books lately. One I read a couple of months ago, and now I'm reading the second one now. These books are I Kissed Dating Goodbye and Boy Meets Girl - Say Hello to Courtship, both by Josh Harris.

Reading I Kissed Dating Goodbye was what prompted me to make my first commitment in the first place several months ago. Now I'm reading his second book, Boy Meets Girl, and I'm finding that it's helping.

Oh, I'm still confused as to what to do in my situation. After all, as Josh Harris says in I Kissed Dating Goodbye, "The Bible doesn't provide a one-size-fits-all program for moving from friendship to marriage. Our lives are too different, our circumstances too unique, and our God too creative to only have one formula for romance. The various ways in which God brings men and women together, like the unique designs of snowflakes, are never quite the same. But just as a one-of-a-kind snowflake can only form at a specific temperature and precipitation, a God-honouring romance can only form when we follow godly patterns and principles."

But this is definitely helping a lot. I mean, I actually teared up when I read a passage in Boy Meets Girl earlier, because it hit so close to home for me as to what I want in a relationship. I was literally that close to actually crying.

I'd definitely recommend reading these, especially if you're confused and not sure what exactly what guidelines and boundaries to follow to successfully maintain a God-pleasing relationship.

That's all for now. See ya's tomorrow, on the last day!!

Today is Electronic Greetings Day and Square Dance Day! What are you waiting for? CELEBRATE!!! :P

As well, today was the eighth anniversary of the death of George Harrison - my favourite Beatle.

Book Reccomendation

Have you read any books by Eric or Leslie Ludy? "When Dreams Come True" is an inspiring true love story, "When God Writes your Love Story" is a great one, "Authentic Beauty" or "Set Apart Femininity" are both great books that help keep your focus during the waiting stage and help set your priorities for the dating stage.

I have read both the Joshua Harris books you discussed. I really enjoyed them but you have to keep some perspective when reading them.

Thanks for this post. It was really encouraging.

Re: Book Reccomendation

You're welcome - I'm glad it was of help to you.

I've never heard of any of those books you've listed here, but I'll definitely look them up :D

And what exactly do you mean by 'you have to keep some perspective when reading [the two Josh Harris books]'? Just wondering.
