A Fine Line - Between Chaos and Creation

Everybody seems to think I'm lazy; I don't mind, I think they're crazy...

I Am Clever
So, it occurs to me that I have (yet again) semi-abandoned this LJ since before I left this summer.

Here's a brief recap of what's been going on with me since then.

Piano exam (in June): Passed with a mark of 76(Honours), which was better than I expected, given the crappy 2 years I had.

HMCS Quadra this summer: Worked there from June 29 to August 18. I was Seamanship staff (aka teaching how to tie knots/do ropework and other such stuff), and I mainly worked with the Boatswain trade cadets. LOADS OF FUN!

(The best part was when all the course cadets [the ones who are still under training] were going home, and when the bos'ns were all coming up to me and being like "We're gonna miss you, PO. Thanks for an awesome summer!"

I know it might sound sappy, but I was just like "AWWWW - thanks!" and I got the warm fuzzies when I heard that. :P It's just awesome to think that you've had a part in making some kids' summer a memorable one. ^_^)

School restarting: Am taking English AP (a first-year college/university course), redoing Chem 11 and Math 11 (to fix marks of 51 and 55, respectively), and dropped Accounting 11 entirely. So far, school isn't looking too bad - especially as I only have to redo about half the work for Chem. :D

Music this year: Beginning lessons for grade 10 RCM, and so far, this year looks to be off to a better start than the one for grade 9. This year, I like a lot more of the pieces that I'm going to be playing (at least 3 - 4 out of 5), and I got to have more input of the pieces I wanted to play for the exam in 2 years from now (that's how long it takes to complete grade 10). Yay!! :D

Cadets: Is back, in full swing. This year, I get more time off from instructing (always a good thing) because we have more instructors. Woo hoo! I'll be getting another medal soon, hopefully next Wednesday (my four-year long service medal). That, and within another month or so (give or take a week or two), I should be able to sit Chief boards!! Another woo hoo!!

So yeah, that's pretty much everything that's gone on since June in a nutshell. I may go more in detail about my summer in another post, but that remains to be seen.

(BTW, most likely you'll read the cadet-related stuff and just be like "Huh? Wait, what did you say? It's like you're speaking another language..." :P I know my parents say that all the time.

So if you have any questions about cadet stuff, feel free to ask. :D)
