I Am Clever

A Fine Line - Between Chaos and Creation

Everybody seems to think I'm lazy; I don't mind, I think they're crazy...

NaBloPoMo 2014 - Day Three
Despite having next to no money, I went out shopping with my mom last week. She'd heard of this nice thrift store that she'd never been to before, and wondered if I wanted to come along. I, curious, agreed to go.

I managed to find myself some new stuff while there, a couple of shirts suitable to wear to work, and a new coat to replace the one I have that's been internally haemorrhaging for a while now.

Look at the lining, poor thing. It needs to be put out of its misery.

I don't think pockets are meant to do that...

But that's not the main subject of this entry.

No. The main subject of this entry is... the PANTS I found.

Yes... the pants.

The lighting really does not do these pants full justice.

I saw them hanging at the end of a rack in the store, and my first thought was immediately: "THEY'RE SERGEANT BENTON PANTS ASDGASJDGAJSDFJAHSFASHDSAJD!!!"

For anyone who doesn't know what I'm talking about, in the Third Doctor serial The Daemons, Sergeant Benton and Mike Yates, two UNIT soldiers, get the once-in-a-TV-lifetime chance to do their jobs in civilian attire. And oh, what civilian attire it is.

Oh, Bad Seventies Fashion. I'd forgotten why I didn't miss you.

Then I had a good internal laugh about of swordznsorcery's recap/review regarding this serial. Never fails to make me laugh.

Anyway, I saw them, and figured I ought to at least try them on, just for laughs (I also found a set of Second Doctor-lookalike pants, too - but that's another story). Turns out, they fit, so I thought "Why not?"

So I bought them, and now I have my own Sergeant Benton pants to wear to work. :D Huzzah!

Fun fact: More people use blue toothbrushes, than red ones!

...those look frightening similar to a pair of jeans I picked up at a thrift store last year. Heh, now I will pretend to be Benton every time I wear them. Thanks for that. :D

These were straight up corduroy pants, so no jeans here. Absolute Seventies at its finest...something.

And no problem - I definitely had a bit of a moment when I saw them. They're awesome pants. :D
