Day 24 - A picture of something you wish you could change

I've been wearing glasses since I was 5.  I can't see any farther than 9-10 inches in front of my face without them.   Wearing contacts doesn't make anything any better, except to create an illusion that I don't require eyewear, and that I can stop walking around looking at the ground when it rains.

I can't even afford to get my glasses prescription updated.  The ones I'm wearing now are 2 years old, and are too weak for my eyes.  Just enough to make sitting at the back of a room, watching a movie/TV, or reading street signs REALLY annoying.  (Which doesn't help the strain on my eyes.)

I've wished for a long time that I could get rid of them, to not be so reliant on this framework sitting in front of my eyes.  But I can't.
I don't qualify for laser eye surgery (even if I could afford it), as the state of my eyes isn't stable, and they're progressively getting worse every year.

So with the way things are, I'm going to be stuck in my indeterminable blur for the rest of my life.

I wish I could change it.  But I can't.
