A Fine Line - Between Chaos and Creation

Everybody seems to think I'm lazy; I don't mind, I think they're crazy...

I Am Clever
Day 23 - A picture of your favorite book

Those of you who know me will know that I've always read a lot.  Like, we're talking A LOT.  I'd finish those summer reading contests that the library would hold (read one book every day of the summer for prizes) in the first week of the summer.

.........yeah......... I had no life.

These days, I still read a lot.  Therefore, I can't just pick one favourite.  Even if I tried to do a mass favourites post (like the TV one), I'd have WAY too many for one entry.  So, I thought I'd give you a book that has stuck with me since I was young. Seriously, even reading an excerpt of it now makes me crack up.

Book summary = Anthony's younger brother puts up with a lot.  Every time he wants to play with Anthony and his friends, or even go into the playroom, Anthony starts to clobber him.  There's nothing to do now...but wait until he's six!

Three of (in my opinion) the best parts from the book:

Mother says deep down in his heart Anthony loves me. Anthony says deep down in his heart he thinks I stink. Mother says deep deep
down in his heart, where he doesn’t even know it, Anthony loves me. Anthony says deep deep down in his heart he still thinks I stink.

When I’m six I’ll read The New York Times. Anthony will still be reading ABC. "Who are you voting for, Anthony?" I’ll ask him.

When I’m six Anthony will still be falling off his bike. I’ll ride by with no hands. “Still falling off that bike?” I’ll ask Anthony.

So while this isn't my FAVOURITE favourite book ever, it's definitely a memorable one from my childhood. :D
