I Am Clever

A Fine Line - Between Chaos and Creation

Everybody seems to think I'm lazy; I don't mind, I think they're crazy...

Day One Hundred-Twelve (Aka: 30 Day Photo Challenge, Day 22)
Day 22 - A picture of something you wish you were better at

I found out through my grandparents a couple of years ago that my dad was artistic (all I'd ever seen him draw were stick figures).  It turns out that he could draw, but when he was around 18-19, decided that "If I couldn't draw(sic) like Michelangelo, then it wasn't worth it.  So I stopped."

ARE YOU KIDDING ME?  I'd give ANYTHING to pull off some of the stuff my dad did (I may post some in a later entry), and all I get are horribly-executed stick people.

This one's a bonus, simply because it's not so much that I wish I was better (though I do), but moreso because I wish I'd never given it up.  That's right... way back in the day, 5-year-old Josee played the violin.  I took lessons for two years, but got bored/"the strings hurt my fingers" (Ed. note: I took up the guitar 6 years later... irony, anyone?), and my parents didn't push me to continue.

Looking back now, I really wish that my parents had made me stick to it - the violin is a truly beautiful instrument.  'Course, then I may never have played the piano...but that's another story.
