A Fine Line - Between Chaos and Creation

Everybody seems to think I'm lazy; I don't mind, I think they're crazy...

Hello, everyone! I'm back, and with a vamped-up new way to be able to write and post again!

Long story short: my laptop has been acting up since spring, sometimes not turning on at all, and when it did, being ridiculously slow and uncooperative. With our finances being kind of awful right now (mostly due to not being paid on time by some people *cough*the military*cough*), there's no way we'd have been able to afford a new one for me for a long time. Then out of nowhere, I ended up being given a new laptop from my in-laws (the whole family chipped in to help pay for it). Given how iffy circumstances have been lately for us, to get an item that I needed/wanted that badly that was also something I never expected to get as a present* actually made me cry.

Not pictured: tears of joy.

It took forever to set it up with all the updates, but it's been well-worth it.

Obligatory shot of the old and the new together, feat. my awfully messy desk.

I also got a DW shirt from my MIL and FIL! It's a Doctor Who and the Daleks shirt, so not from TECHNICAL DW canon, but still a pretty cool shirt nonetheless.

*When I say unexpected, I mean it - my family's policy on gifts has always been "nothing over $50(ish)", which is fair, given 6 kids. Anytime we wanted anything valuable (our own CD player, camera, iPod, etc), it was expected that they would give money towards it if that's what we really wanted, but they wouldn't buy it outright for us. Not to mention, my mother's penchant of keeping old boxes for things and using them to re-package gifts in; I saw the box for the laptop and I immediately thought that there was something else inside because that's what I've learned to expect when I get gifts. So yeah... unexpected.

So now thatI have this handy new device to enable me to post more often, I want to get back to the projects I started earlier this year. Better late than never, I say!
