A Fine Line - Between Chaos and Creation

Everybody seems to think I'm lazy; I don't mind, I think they're crazy...

Okay, so I know I haven't posted anything for a while, but trust me, I haven't fallen off the face of the Earth. :P

Here's what's been up with me IRL recently.

1.  I lost weight.

I haven't been happy with the state of my body for a while, now.  I've never been huge, but I had gained some weight/was definitely out of shape since going to university and no longer being a cadet.

It came to a head in December, when I saw this picture someone had taken of me (I'm the one on the right):

I know it might not seem like a lot,  but I've never had a gut before. So with that picture as my 'push', as it were, I decided to try and lose weight. I found a 12 week program consisting of three days of weight training a week (plus being more careful about what I ate), and I managed to drop 14lbs, plus build some muscle as well. I went from 147 (approximately), down to 133, and I'm very proud of myself for sticking to it.

At the end of 12 weeks:

2. I went away on a military training course.

Over Spring Break, I went away for a week to do a course called Sea Environmental Training. I spent the week up at HMCS Quadra, doing things like navigation, basic ropework, and power boating. I also got to see people like crazy_square again, which was pretty awesome.

What was even more awesome was that because Crazy Square and I already had the power boating qualifications necessary (licenses to drive, VHF radio licenses, and practical experience - the pros of having done this already as a cadet), we basically got to chill out and do safety boat duty. This means that we weren't tested on anything for the three days we were out on the water, and basically just did nothing but some familiarization on one type of boat one day, and otherwise just hang around for supervision in our own powerboat the rest of the time.

Have a photo of Crazy Square and I looking mildly suspicious (it's windy on the ocean in March):

3. I got married.

On April 26, I got married to my wonderful boyfriend of two years, Tim Havas. It was a wonderful day, and everything went so smoothly. It was really quite awesome. Have a bunch of photos, taken by the lovely Cayce Vanderzalm.

Us and the bridal party (3/4 of the groomsmen are my brothers):

As for the reception, Tim and I walked in wearing these (borrowed from brothers), to the Doctor Who theme:

To continue the geeky trend, we had this for our cake (a gorgeous design conceived by our cake maker):

(And yes, those are tiny Daleks. :P)

Anyway, that's what I've been up to recently, and why I haven't posted any more UNIT!100 since March, or Listographies since the beginning of April. Rest assured, I haven't forgotten either of them, and plan to get back to both of those soon. I have plenty of story ideas to use and lists to fill out, and I want to finish them all.

See you all soon! :)

Congratulations! Awesome cake, and that blue and white colour scheme in your clothing and flowers is really cool.
